Child custody investigations can be very difficult and in many cases takes showing a pattern of bad behavior from the target parent, rather than capturing a single occurance. Whereas adultery investigations are usually related to assets and support, child custody is usualy related to the safety or well-being of your child. Nothing could be more important to parents and we take these cases very seriously.

Please understand though that if you believe that your ex-spouse being caught out drinking heavily at a bar one night is going to alter your custody situation...it probably will not. This is where a pattern may be important. If it is shown that this sort of behavior is commonplace, that may well cause a change through the court system. Many different patterned behaviors can change custody situations, such as unsafe driving with the child; evidence of drug or alcohol abuse or addiction; having the child around people they are not supposed to be around by court order or where the other persons can be shown to negatvely affect the childs safety or well-being.

Please remember when considering a child custody case that the child is also probably going through a very difficult time. Sometimes this is inadvertantly overlooked which can cause undue anxiety for children. We only bring this up to keep it in mind, as sometimes the process of having the investigation done can divert attention away from what is going on around you.
